Mooloolaba Christmas Boat Parade 2017


The annual event is organised by Mooloolaba Yacht Club and proudly sponsored by The Wharf Mooloolaba and the Sunshine Coast Council. 

The Parade starts at 6:30pm. It travels from The Wharf Mooloolaba to Mooloolah Island, then down to La Balsa Park, back up the river towards Mooloolaba Wharf  turning into Kawana Canal down to Lawries Marina, back to river, down to La Balsa Park for second viewing and then back to The Wharf Mooloolaba for judging.

Rush Festival 2017


Rush Festival (5 - 21 October) is a celebration of creativity, arts, culture and heritage that ignites the Gympie region with colour, music, dance, art, theatre, film, poetry and fun throughout the month of October. Rush Festival’s diverse collaborative program creatively entwines grassroots events and celebrations with the internationally acclaimed Heart of Gold International Short Film Festival, Gold Rush Festival and Widgee Bush Balladeers. 

From art competitions, masterclasses, and debates to theatre, concerts, comedy acts, and family fun there is something for everyone to enjoy and experience during Rush Festival. The festival welcomes people from all walks of life to enjoy, engage, create, learn, grow, film, play, act, dance, sing and connect in the Gympie region. Come for a day or stay for the month to truly engage and appreciate this unique region during the Rush Festival.

Medieval fun with Sir Justyn at the Castle


Well known medieval performer and educator and Sunshine Castle resident Knight Sir Justyn, features regularly in the Sunshine Castle during School Holidays and will return this September for his monthly displays at the castle. 

Be sure not to miss the canon fire or the weapons and armour talks or one of his ever changing archery challenges, jousting or trebuchet firing activities. Sir Justyn brings history to life and appears to have an answer for even the tricky questions. Get up close and personal and enjoy the different elements of his medieval themed interactive displays. 

All children must be accompanied by their parent or guardian at all times. Activity is free with castle admission.

Work will only be performed on weekdays between 8.00am & 4.30pm with all work ceasing on weekends and school holidays.

2017 Ginger Flower and Food Festival


The Ginger Factory’s iconic Ginger Flower and Food Festival is back for its 21st year and promises to delight the senses with three spectacular days of food, flowers and entertainment for all.

From Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd January 2017 the park will burst alive with colour, showcasing the largest and most exquisite range of ornamental gingers and heliconias that thrive in our sub-tropical climate.
